The Orchid of Samos

The orchis anatolica is found in Eastern Mediterranean regions.

A delicate-looking species with a loose points of pinkish flowers with large lips and long prominent spurs; reaching 30 cm in height. It is found in light shade in pine woods.

A large selection of orchids are cultivated in Kokkari by a renowned local agricuturalist named Yiakoumis Amyrsonis.

He has succeeded in breeding beautiful varieties and the grounds are worth visiting.
