Aristarhos- Pioneer mathematician and astronomer who became known for his revelation of the solar system. He was the first to realise that the earth moved not only on its axis, but also around the sun.

Born between 280 and 256 b.c.on Samos island. Most of his life was spent in Athens and he was known to be a scholar of Aristotle.

The Aristarhos International airport of Samos is named after him.
